Piano Inspection: Our process
The first thing I look for is improper storage, and any signs of moisture exposure for long periods of time.
- Rust or corrosion around the tuning pins, strings and other metal components.
-Squeaking or buzzing action components
-Wood separating within the cabinet of the piano and other integral parts of the build such as the bridges and soundboard.
Within the action i check for excessive wear, that would indicate if it was used institutionally or professionally.
-Bushing and pin tightness
-felt shape and hardness
-Overall responsiveness and loss of motion
